Imagine that you’re floating on the edge of the visible universe, perhaps in a craft that allows you to safely travel freely throughout space at any speed. As you exit the spherical boundary of our known universe and enter into the unknown blackness of true vacuum you eventually come to the edge of something new, a region of space so totally alien to you that your senses are nearly incapable of comprehending it. Here, the basic nature of matter and energy and the laws governing them are different. You would be torn apart immediately if your impervious craft wasn’t protecting you. Eventually, you reach the other side of this unique pocket of space and exit its boundary back into the murky vacuum, and as you peer out into the blackness you begin to see another bubble in the distance. And then another. And another. You realize you are in the midst of a vast sea of bubbles in the darkness, a veritable “bubble bath” universe.

This scenario is an artistic interpretation of the cosmological model of Eternal Inflation, a family of theories that posit a multiverse in which space is broken up into patches whose properties differ from patch to patch spanning all physical possibilities.

POCKET WORLDS is this imagined journey, guiding the listener through eight distinct bubbles and through the spaces in between. Put on your best headphones, pour your favorite drink, sit in your most comfortable chair, and let us show you the multiverse.
